
Overview
The Industry Program in Forensic Sciences and Criminology is designed to train aspiring and mid-career professionals in a variety of forensic disciplines applied to crime scene investigation and evidence analysis. Professionals trained in these disciplines are crucial to today’s comprehensive forensic investigations. Completing this certification will qualify to work as forensic scientists, DNA analysts, chemists, death investigators and crime scene responders at the local, state and federal levels.
The Eligibility for the training program is graduation in any discipline. Highly interested participants in final year can also apply.
BII Program Participation Fee for this program is Rs 10,300 (for participants based in India / USD 750 ( for overseas participants ). Payment is to be made through Demand Draft / At Par Cheque in favor of Bioinformatics Institute of India.
Every student has to pay Rs.300/- per module as examination fees. Examination fee for overseas participants is USD 30 Per Module.

Program Duration : The program duration is 12 months.
At the end of the duration of a program, participants go through a well defined evaluation process which is held on all India basis.
Job Prospects & Career Options
In Forensic Science Studies, you will gain first-hand experience investigating simulated crime scenes and collecting evidence. You will learn about the biological, chemical and physical aspects of forensic science – for example, analyzing and examining DNA, trace chemical evidence and firearm markings. Proper scientific methodology will be emphasized as you learn the latest investigative techniques to collect manage and examine evidence on site and in the lab. The students can find employment with law enforcement agencies, police, and legal system and in the investigative services of the government and also private agencies, work as teachers in institutes that conduct courses in this subject.

Opportunities for forensic scientists exist in government organizations such as the Intelligence Bureau (IB), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and as investigative officers in the crime cells of state police forces. Forensic experts essentially work in forensic labs and sometimes even in large private detective agencies to establish the link between the criminal and the crime.
There is variety of options for forensic professionals. They can specialize in subjects as varied as medicine, engineering, finger-printing, insect study, languages, geology etc.
